2/21 Meeting Notes

Met with Jesse Miller

Revisioning Blog Proj Project from CMM110

  • Reexamining Morphe
    • Threw out ideas that I got from others in class and what I had been thinking about
      • This entailed looking then and now comparing a few different things such as trends, different socials etc.
  • Jesse –
    • Wonder what you’re gonna find of interest ?
    • Time frame is only about 2-3 years, not going to see crazy differences

New idea: Assessment?

  • Assessing Morphe
  • Basically comparing 2-3 companies to Morphe and “assessing” them
    • Competing brands – evaluate
    • 3-4 companies branding (around a theme?)
    • Create a Rubric
      • Ex: # of feedback to company per day
  • Analysis based on this one company Morphe on competing companies
  • More interested in another company after the assessment?

2/28

Since my meeting with Jesse, I have been researching and looking at different companies that I want to choose to asses and compare to Morphe. This week I was able to draft a brief abstract for my project.

3/6 – Next Steps

In week 6 I had started working on the abstract, so by the end of this week I plan to use that to finish creating a more detailed revision plan, which I will then post in this section by Friday 3/8. This will entail some brainstorming for creating a “rubric” for assessment, as well as including “activities” to complete, as well as blocking out time frames to work on my project for the rest of the semester.

3/13

Last week I posted my detailed revision plan, along with my abstract for the project. I’m going to start writing the rubric for analysis.

3/20

In class today we submitted our applications for our capstone project for the symposium. I decided on a name for my project – Makeup, Media, & Marketing to the Masses. This week I finalized my rubric that I will be using for my assessment.

3/27

This week I began looking at each company’s social media platforms and taking notes on what I observed. I’ll be doing this for the next 3 weeks. I created an outline in a blog format on my e-portfolio that will be used to display the final draft of my project.

4/3

Continuation of taking stock of socials. Taking notes and coming to conclusions at the end of the week.

4/10

Same as week above. Pushed off my meeting with Jesse Miller that was supposed to happen 2 weeks ago, so I set up a meeting with Jesse in a few weeks. This felt more appropriate with my own timeline and where I was at in the process.

4/17

Continuation of observations, this is the last week of it. In class today we did peer review, which I summarized in the “peer review” section. I began to start my presentation, and deciding how to present a large amount of material in a short time frame presentation. Emailed Jesse about meeting next week.

4/24

In the days leading up to todays class, I rounded out a rough draft of my presentation to complete a “dry-run” in class today. “Trimming down” the information in a summary format for my presentation was easier than I expected. I wasn’t too confident going into my dry-run presentation today in class, because I definitely needed to practice more. This being said, I got some great feedback that will definitely help me on the day of the presentation at the symposium. The main thing is practice and BREATHE! Meeting with Jesse this Friday the 26th to go over my entire project & presentation.

5/1

My meeting with Jesse went well last Friday, and he gave me a few little things to tweak. I have been practicing all week in order to be prepared for symposium day on Friday. I made notecards to make sure I am not going too long, and I think it is going well.
