Taking stock of my past humanities coursework when deciding which project to choose was definitely a walk down memory lane. Even though I am only a junior, work from classes I took my freshman year feel like ages ago, and I feel that I have grown so much in my work. This growth I’ve experienced stems from exceptional professors and courses that have equipped me with critical thinking abilities and enhanced my writing and communication skills.
I chose this project because I wanted to demonstrate to myself that I could revise my original project that I had done first semester of my freshman year, and make it into something I am proud of. I knew this project could bring together all of my knowledge, and different aspects of things I am passionate about (makeup, marketing, and social media).
Comparing my initial project to this revised version, it’s clear that I have experienced significant growth, particularly evident in my expanded knowledge of marketing concepts and improved writing skills. As I noted, the first project was completed during freshman year, first semester. Since then, I’ve taken several marketing courses, and you can see it in this latest project, from the marketing terminology I use, that I have a more advanced knowledge.
I believe that my capstone project demonstrates this growth so well. Throughout my blog, I thoroughly examine the success of marketing campaigns, clearly applying my understanding of the strategies. Additionally, I use what I’ve learned about marketing theory to break down real-life situations, showing how I can apply what I know in real situations.
