Peer review session in class went well and I feel I got great feedback to help me going forward and rounding out my project.
Some of the best advice I got was to utilize the “gallery” feature on e-portfolio to present my pictures, rather than having them aligned vertically making it a longer scroll. I didn’t know this was something I could do on e-portflio, so I was glad to get this advice. After implementing this change, I am already much happier with the overall layout and look of my project.
Another piece of advice I received from classmates as well as Professor Frank was to include an introduction at the beginning of my blog to discuss the goal of the project, and explain some of the areas of assessment from the rubric and what they mean. I have now included this in my blog!
I got a few comments from my classmates saying things such as “this really shows your applied knowledge,” and “I think your perspective and your knowledge really works here.” – I love that my knowledge of marketing is evident in my project, it gives me confidence, especially knowing this is something I want to pursue as a career.
A few of the questions that I wanted to answer:
- Will there be a final analysis/report once you’ve completed your blog posts? or a “what did we learn” section.
- Without a doubt! This was the plan, but I hadn’t included it yet by the time peer review rolled around. I plan to make a concluding assessment of each company, going into what I observed as their strengths and weaknesses over the past 4 weeks. Not only this, but I am also going to have a suggestion section where I will detail where each company can improve.
- You have a lot of good information, but how are you going to keep it to a 10 minute presentation? What will you highlight/focus on and what will be left out?
- This is a great question! I plan to boil down the information to highlight my rubric, and the top companies for each of the 4 categories. So first I will explain my rubric that I developed, then choose a winner based on my observation for each of the categories, and lastly I will go into suggestions for each company. I feel doing my presentation this way gives an overview of what I observed and sort of concludes everything. It also shows my knowledge from the development of my rubric.
